Album by two veteran female singers. Fairly standard traditional fare, with five songs from each, then two sung together and two live tracks from 2009, one from each singer. Traditional, shima uta style songs written by some of the island’s greatest composers and some new songs too. Hajime Nakasone plays sanshin, and Hikari plays koto, sanshin and sanba. At 82, Yuki Yamazato confirms her stature as one of the greatest female singers.
