One of the best of the current Tsugaru shamisen players, blind musician Shotaro Yo (born in 1977) learned Tsugaru shamisen from the age of six and was a 'champion' at the Tsugaru Shamisen Championship of 2008 held in Aomori. On this new album he plays four Tsugaru minyo folk songs and three original tunes.
