Naruyoshi Kikuchi Dub Sextet released three albums from 2007 to 2010 and then disbanded. The long awaited vinyl version of their first album finally gets released. In addition to Naruyoshi Kikuchi's saxophone and trumpeter Shinpei, the rhythm section is centered around Masayasu Tsuboguchi (piano) Masato Suzuki and dub engineer Pardon Kimura and drummer Tamaya Honda. Using the Miles Davis Quintet of the 1960s as a matrix, and quoting the jazz of Ornette Coleman and Eric Dolphy, this work stylishly sharpens jazz in an abstract, funky way, and transcends time and space as an ``forever new sound.'' Pardon Kimura was in charge of re-editing the LP version.
