Long overdue first solo album from one of Japan's leading shakuhachi players. Kominato was born into a family of musicians in Fukushima Prefecture, particularly, the minyo, folk tradition. He studied under the great Goro Yamaguchi, and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Kominato has made it his mission to explore new possibilities for the shakuhachi. He has played with a range of artists from Susan Boyle, to Gackt and EXILE, and has gained an international following as producer of the acclaimed NHK World 'Blends' series.
