Katsuya Yokoyama, born in 1934 in Shizuoka, was one of the great shakuhachi masters. This is a CD of five classical shakuhachi pieces originally on the LP ``Katsuya Yokoyama's World, Sangairinten, composed for the Japan Arts Festival in 1980, and two large-scale compositions of Yokoyama. The title track, `Sangairinten' is a collaboration with his long time collaborator, biwa player Kinshi Tsuruta, a shakuhachi ensemble with percussion.
