Wonderful collaboration album, recorded in 2005 finally gets a release. Yagi is one of the Koto world's most fearless collaborators and innovators and on this album plays 21 string and 17 string bass koto, sometimes using a bass bow or drumsticks to add to the sonic possibilities. Sharp,meanwhile, is well known in the New York experimental music scene, a multi-instrumentalist, mainly a guitar player and pioneer of lap top computers as part of the performance. Sharp plays an eight string guitar bass with a laptop interface, and the two improvise to create a variety of moods, from intense pieces to deeply meditative moments, many with a Japanese traditional edge.
