Wonderful recording of a mohowrri ensemble, a secular music that was once played as an offering to the gods especially during the Angkor period. These days it is played at folk dances or banquets and is purely a form of entertainment. The ensemble is mainly string based, with the vocalist and ensemble alternating. This CD has male and female vocalists accompanied by a variety of string instruments such as the tro-cassi (two-stringed fiddle) tro-ou (two-stringed bass violin) and the percussion instrument, the skor thon.
