New title. Kumi-Odori is a musical drama from Okinawa that was practiced at the end of the eighteenth century. It originated in Shuri, and provided entertainment for visiting Chinese diplomats. Tamagusuku Chokun (1684-1734) is credited with establishing the art from several different types of East Asian dances. Recorded in 1997.
