New title. The musical culture and lifestyle of the Bauls has deeply inspired village life in Bengal. Their singing style is linked to other Bengali folk culture, from tribal to village, yet has developed into a distinctive sound, which when combined with dance, is designed to melt the soul of the listener. The instruments include the ektara, (one string), duggi (kettle drum) gopi yantra (2 stringed instrument), sarinda (4 stringed bow) and kartal (small cymbals). Recorded in 1977.
