Product Description
Anna Sato was born on Amami island, in Japan's deep south. She began learning from her grandfather aged three, and relocated to Tokyo to pursue a music career. She has achieved some success overseas, particularly through collaborating with choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and his dance production ICON as an arranger and singer. She also has performed with drummer Toshiyuki Sasaki at the Recontres de Chantes Polyphoniques festival in Corsica. Mix of Amami traditional songs with jazz, hip hop and other interesting rhythms. Also contains her theme to the NHK drama Segodon. Watch the video for Honenbushi.
