Like the Waves You Hear

Collaboration between Israeli band Boom Pam with local and associated musicians from Minamisanriku and the Tohoku region in Northern Japan. Formed by guitarist Uri Brauner Kinrot, Boom Pam play a kind of oriental surf rock and have become frequent visitors to Japan. This album is deeply connected to the Tohoku earthquake of March 11th 2011. Features the local folk dance Mitobeshi Shiodori of Minamisanriku, a taiko group and musicians including Yukihiko Yotsukura, Kiwi & Papaya Mango's sitar player Go Arai, Tsugaru shamisen player Hibiki Orie from Sendai, Emi Shirasaki, singer with Shang Shang Typhoon.
