Silk strings were origiinally used for koto and are still sometimes used for shamisen. This CD features koto and shamisen played on silk strings to mark Japan's most famous and oldest silk reeling factory, Tomioka Silk Mill, being added to the World Heritage List as a cultural site in June 2014. Japanese traditional tunes with some western classical music in there too.
