He performs genres such as kuomiuta (shamisen suites) hauta (short shamisen songs) on songs originallty composed for both koto and for shamisen (jiuta sokyoku). What sets Kikihara apart though is his Osaka dialect (although he was not born in Osaka himself). He is known particularly in Kansai for keeping this unuique style alive, which learnt from the Living National Treasure Hatsuko Kikuhara. 28 tracks.
