Famous for his saxophone interpretations of Bach's Cello Suites, Yasuaki Shimizu releases a landmark album of the Goldberg Variations. Described as 'baroque contemporary music' Shimizu first interpreted the Goldberg Variations for five saxophones and four contrabasses at a concert in 2010. He reassembled the band to record at Salamanca Hall in Gifu prefecture,known for its acoustics. Fantastic recording.
