Live recording from 2024, featuring Toshiyuki Tsuchitori on sanukaito, an ancient stone, and Eric-Maria Couturier on cello. Nine improvisational pieces. Toshi Tsuchitori is an avant-garde jazz percussionist who has played with Ryuichi Sakamoto, Toshinori Kondo, Kazutoki Umezu as well as overseas musicians such as Derek Bailey and Steve Lacy. Since 1976 he has been working with the Peter Brook founded International Centre for Theatre Research. He has worked for many years with shamisen player Haru Momoyama, and has studied Japanese prehistoric music, such as sanukaito heard on this album. Eric-Maria Couturier is a Vietnamese born, French cellist who has performed at the most prestigious concert halls around the world with leading conductors of the day.
