Produced by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Akiko Yano. Originally released in 1986. Ryuichi Sakamoto used to host a radio show on NHK-FM called Sound Street. Guests included David Bowie, David Sylvian, Thomas Dolby, Robert Palmer, Scritti Politti as well as many Japanese musicians, including Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi. A segment of the programme was called Demo Tape Special, playing demo tapes made by listeners. Together with Akiko Yano, Sakamoto curated this album of the best demo tapes they were sent. Many listeners were musicians who were greatly influenced by YMO, while others were playing ambient, experimental, post punk or hip-hop. Highlights include Tomoko Asano's Hindu Go Rap, Seiiru Okamoto's Giappone, and the big name to come out of it, was Tei Towa who contributes a couple of tracks.
