Naruyoshi Kikuchi is a multi-talented saxophone player, arranger, composer and writer. He is known for working in mainly the avant-garde jazz and club music scene. He was a founding member of Tipographica and has played with Yosuke Yamashita, Urban Sax and Spank Happy. This is his collaboration album with the wonderful female singer UA. Half of the 12 tracks are originals, the other half covers. The tunes you might know include Night in Tunisia and Over the Rainbow, but are performed probably like nothing you've heard before. UA started off singing jazz at night clubs in Osaka, so she seems well at home here.
