1970s and '80s Japanese fusion has been gaining attention in Japan and around the world in the wake of the City Pop revival. Instrumental music, mixing jazz, rock, soul, Latin music and other styles, played by session musicians who were also behind much of the sounds of City Pop. Groups and artists such as Casiopea, Masayoshi Takanaka, Yuji Toriyama, Himiko Kikuchi, Kazumi Watanabe, and Terumasa Hino have all been rediscovered in recent years. The artwork for the series was created by graphic artist Stereo Tennis, a pioneer of 80s design. Supervised by Hitoshi Kurimoto.
