100s Live Tour 2007 Hyaku Rairai
Live 2 DVD collection from the excellent 100s (Hyaku Shiki) featuring the very talented Kazuyoshi Nakamura and Takafumi Ikeda (Super Butter Dog) filmed during a tour of 11 concerts in 9 cities in June 2007. Plus tour documentary and candid shots.
100s (Hyaku-Shiki) is the new group featuring the brilliant songwriter Kazuyoshi Nakamura. He is joined by bass, drums, guitar and keyboards (Takafumi Ikeda of Super Butter Dog). More energy than Nakamura's solo albums, with a harder edge but the same outstanding tunes and an experimental side that sets 100s apart from the mainstream.
One of the best of Japan's current pop and rock songwriters. Big production, great songs, on a album that seamlessly switches from one style to the next, that creates an album as a collective whole rather than just a series of songs. Backed by a specially formed group Hyaku Shiki, featuring other talented musicians, a rare treat among the mainstream.
Truly exceptional album by one of Japan's most talented musicians. The most obvious influence may be the Beatles, but there is a host of other sounds among the big production, that takes this album onto another level, constantly switching in styles and full of surprises. In it's execution of ideas, the equal of Radiohead, but with more immediacy. Guests include Haruomi Hosono. The Japanese pop album of 2000?
Highly talented young multi-instrumentalist with influences from British 60s music.
Live footage from 2003 at Tokyo's Shibuya AX and Budokan including tour documentary, new and hit songs from talented rock singer. (DVD)
